It must have rained Ladyfish on Wednesday. After hiding under the Johns Island bridge for close to an hour I hit the area between the Sisters after the rain, nothing there, but could see a lot of activity way out on the flat. Investigation showed it to be Ladyfish. The run extended from South Sister to the West side of Hole in the Wall. No Trout around the pack.
The morning was a little disappointing. Started at the North end of Hole in the Wall, nothing but a few U-2's. Continued to work the East side, no hits and did not see any fish. There was not very much bait in the area. Watched a boat fish the area around North Sister, waited for them to leave. Managed to get a Rat Red on the West side and ran over 3 more between the islands. One note here, the Reds are holed up back under the Mangroves. Nothing between the Sisters. Moved back up into Oyster Cut and popped another Rat.
Took the long ride all the way to the back end of Johns Island. Still a lot of big Snook trying to keep warm out on the flats. Worked the edge of the drop got 2 Bluefish and a slot Trout . Right now there are a lot of Glass Minnows back under the Mangroves. Moved back down to Oyster Cut planned on working around the islands. Too late the siren went off telling me it was time to take cover. Spent the next hour under the bridge, usually with a hard rain there are quite a few fish, not today.
All clear, moved back to the Sisters and got another slot Trout. Spent the rest of the day working around the Ladyfish. Temperatures started to drop so it was time to head for home. Not a great day but it beats sitting home or working.
